Should Overlay Renderer take longer to startup

Hi,

It is typical to have GB-PVR take more time loading with the overlay renderer than the others? My understanding was that overlay requires less resources, but is that because of the startup hit?

I have a 3GHz pentium 4 with a gig of RAM, ATI AIW x800 video card and an Hauppauge HVR-1600.

I don't have a problem with the other renderers (7 or 9) but I'm surprised at how long it takes with overlay.

Some people that have only installed one or two MPEG2 decoders have Overlay start instantly, others that have lots of decoders often get this delay. The delay happens somewhere inside directshow while trying to automatically detect which decoders connect to what other filters.

It may be one specific decoder installed on your machine that is causing this delay.
