EPG No Longer Works

I have WinXP, SP3, GBPVR v 1.3.11, and EPG MC2XML. I have been using these components for several years (it seems like), and all has been well. Recently, after returning from a 2 week vacation (during which the computer was off) I attempted to record a program, and noticed that the TV Guide says "no show details". I have piddled around with various things, but can't get it going.

Is the MC2XML source working? Does anyone have suggestions about how to get the TV Guide filled in with information?

You may have an old copy. Try a fresh one.

Somewhat like your problem. However, I tried deleting the mc2xml.dat file, clicked mc2xml.exe, but got no updated information. Have I done the wrong procedure?

I also went into Config and clicked on UpDateEPG, but that didn't work either. Please explain how to manually update by deleting the .dat file.

redownloading mc2xml seems to have fixed it for me.

I have mc2xml in a separate folder. When running the .exe and choosing Microsoft Legacy and adding the zip and country, it creates a .dat file that keeps the info you chose such as what cable company option you chose and zip etc. Delete the dat file and you have to start over again. If that doesn't clear things out, delete the .xml file and start over.

I downloaded a fresh copy of mc2xml.exe, followed the instructions for using it, and all is back to normal.

Every several days, I clean my Registry with jv16, and did so just before going on vacation. After two weeks, I re booted my computer, and mc2xml didn't work any longer. But I have cleaned the Registry many times before, and never had any problems with mc2xml. Anybody have any thoughts on why it failed this time?

I'm beginning to wonder if it isn't on purpose but I'm probably going too far. I did donate $5 a few months back when NPVR first came out.....maybe they want more money for us freeloaders.

How did you download a new copy? I just tried and it says This 110mb.com account is suspended?

That's interesting. Might explain why I have been having problems lately but maybe not. I guess just stay tuned, we might find out soon what happened.
Suspended sounds pretty serious though.
