GB-PVR 99.12 Nova-T 9003
I cannot find a way to lock the aspect ratio of the display:confused:
The picture on my PC can be made into any shape or size, but this also effects the TV-out picture - so if I make the PC display square the TV changes to 4:3; if I make the PC GB-PVR display oblong the TV goes back to widescreen etc.
This does not happen with media player etc because the aspect ratio is locked.

Thank you - yes I am using clone mode (Nvidia FX5950).
The other choices available are horizontal & vertical span or dual-view.
None of these would seem a better choice? As stated it would not be an issue if GB-PVR had an option to lock the ratio, but as it is you have to sort of 'guess' what shape it should be!
I just tried dual-view and it did not change anything. I must stress though that the TV display does a good job of trying to keep the ratio correct and full-screen but the fact you can make GB-PVR any wierd shape and size can trip it up...I just wish there was a 'lock aspect ratio' check-box.

Sorry, GB-PVR only tries to manage the aspect ratio when you're running fullscreen.

you have tried pressing f7 havent you while playing a movie
you can also change the aspect ration manually in the config file to make it what ever shape you want
basically most people have trouble trying to run tv and a monitor

Thank you - I must stress that I usually have no problems running the TV and monitor, it works extremely well.
I like to have full-screen video on the 2nd display whilst working / surfing / messaging on the PC.
The only issue is when GBPVR is in windowed mode. Using any other video payer (Media player 10, media player classic, WinDVD, WinTV200) I can use any size of window and the TV always stays at the correct aspect ratio (4:3, or 16:9 with bars top and bottom, depending on source file). The only difference is that you cannot lock the ratio of GBPVR in windowed mode.
Still it is a very minor issue and I will just have to be carefull when resizing the window!

Now I am using the full-screen / start on second monitor option this aspect ratio issue is no longer a problem.
BUT I ran into a different issue - in that after pausing live TV or video, or starting to record TV, the displayed ratio of 16:9 material was changing itself to 4:3!
After searching through the forum I found the advice from sub not to use 'system default' for the video decoder so I changed it to 'Intervideo non-css for Hauppage' and now it works perfectly, thank you.
