The new VideoArchive release (Beta4) has very good functionality, but it has become extremely slow. To scroll from one program title to the next one in the "Current and Archived Recordings" left pane takes anything up to 15 seconds... (and the CPU utilization goes very high). I run on a Pentium 4, 1.8GHz, Win XP (SR2) with PVR-350 and PVR-250.

I have also noticed that the TV Guide in Sub's release is a little sluggish scrolling to the right, but nothing compared to the VideoArchive plugin.

In fact I cannot use VideoArchive with MediaMVP - it times out and reboots the MVP all the time.

Any thoughts?

The slowness comes from building the list of recordings. It is built and cached on the first access to the directory(ies) that represent the show. After that, the next time you go back to that show the information will all be in memory and it should be faster. In the previous releases it built the list each time so it should have been uniformly slow. One case where this would not be true is if your machine is tight on resources, in which case I suppose the plug-in could be forcing your machine to use more virtual memory which would slow things down. I have 1 GB of memory on my PC and the new version is much more responsive than the old one. If you want to email me a log (archiver.log) I can look to see if there is something funny going on.

I have sent the log file. It seems there are a lot of failed cache lookups.
Look forward to hear from you.

An update that fixes this problem (knock on wood) has been posted to http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...oArchiver. PeterM, even though the zip file name is the same as what I sent you, the plug-in and skins are in fact slightly newer and different if you want to try them.
