Cheers
Andy

What is the error message you get from the installer before it gives the "send to microsoft" dialogue (if any)...

Also, what language are you running XP in?

The installer is a standard InstallShield installer... I can't think of anything that would cause it to fail like that - perhaps Anti-Virus software or some component of InstallShield that your system doesn't like - but then you wouldn't be able to install almost anything if that were the case...

Cheers,
Andy

There is a dependency in the program that requires it to be run from c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr - I'm assuming the German version of XP doesn't use "C:\Program Files" as it's location... it may be that the version of InstallShield sub is using has a problem with German, or that he is doing something specific that isn't being picked up properly.

Sorry I can't be more helpful - maybe sub will have more of an idea when he comes on line..

Cheers,
Andy

I must admit, I'm at a bit of a loss over this one. I'm not sure what could be going on. Is it installing any files?

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] (MaBo @ Jan. 15 2004,09:30)]My wife has played with GBPVR now a bit, and she had several hangs. Yesterday I looked into it, and it appeared that when having played a video file, the program starts eating lots of CPU-time (80+%) and memory (increasing to over 200MB) as reported by windows taskmanager.
It does listen to the remote (IR.exe is not running), but very slowly. Keypresses may have effect after several minutes. This looks, for the normal user (=my wife) as an application hang.
BTW, this also appeared with 008 release.

Any ideas?

Hi MaBo, thanks for the observations. I have found and corrected the bug that caused this large memory usage.
