Does 1.0.8 need ir.exe running

Since upgrading to 1.0.8 I have made the registry change to use the Nova T pci instead of the usb, which is much more reliable. However, after a reboot, despite having direct access set in config, the remote doesn't respond unless I run Restart IR. Should I be able to run with 45 key Hauppauge, or do I need to put restart IR in startup?

you don't want to run direct access, switch that off and let ir.exe handle the remote.

yes, you need to put ir.exe into your startup folder.

you may have problems with ir.exe not responding when the pc wakes up from standby.

in this case you will need gbpvrwake.exe running (again from startup folder) which will call wake.cmd in gbpvr folder upon resume from standby. in this cmd file you can add the command to restart ir.exe (look at the properties of your restart ir.exe icon in hauppague folder)
