Right now I have a 1600 I use for cable and a twinpauge for HDTV OTA.

Can I put the HDTV OTA into the other coax input on the 1600 and return the twinpauge? Will there be any difference etc? (I think the other one isnt encoded or what not)

Any help is appreciated.
thanks

twinpauge? what's that?
the 1600 has 2 tuners and 2 encoders, so you can use both at same time..

if you're not using the hd side for cable QAM, then yes you can tune ota with that side and still have the analog side do cable thru cable box or internal tuner..
i just put a splitter with 2 short cables to feed both with same ant feed for dual OTA viewing..

ok so I take it you're not using cable or anything, just from an antenna? What antenna are you using, just curious.

Also, so the 2 inputs - 1 is for analog (like cable, satellite boxes, etc) and the other input is digital?

If you could please explain the difference between the 2, that'd be great, because I'm still a bit confused on them.
thanks

yea, was wonderin if i'd missed something...thought it might be a hauppauge knockoff..hehe

i use a regular old giant rooftop antenna, seems to work fine for me..Smile
yep, the one coax is for digital, one for analog, they should be labeled slightly..
the svideo can also be used by the analog side instead of tuner..
[the preferred way to hookup to sat box, better resolution]

so in one scenario, you could create three sources in config, one being ota digital, one sat box thru svideo, and one ant analog...Smile
[this is how i use mine]
of course the sat box and analog ant. are on same encoder, so can only record or watch one of these at a time, but can watch/record digital whether those are being used or not..and most analog channels are duplicated in digital so it's like having another tuner for local channels..
of course this all depends on your channel lineups in your area,cable/sat.etc

so are you the c-sharp master? Big Grin
