I finally updated to the latest version a few days ago. Very very snazzy and I love it! At least when I'm using my PC. When I've tried using my MVP it's been depressing. It used to work excellently so maybe someone can offer some insight. On one hand I hope it's simple and easy to fix...on the other I hope it's something more complicated so that I'm not wasting your time asking for help to an easy problem. I've searched the forums and haven't found anything yet that helps.


The symptoms...

1) When I power up the MVP it contacts the servers for about 10 minutes (maybe 9 minutes 45 secs) every time before the menu comes up. The new menu does show and I can scroll through it.

2) I can see my video & audio files, the TV guide, and all my old recordings - however, when I try to play anything, especially the video I get a black screen and go nowhere for at least 15 minutes...this is all the longer I've let it sit. Back on my PC, the tuner is "watching" live TV but something is happening between there and the MVP I guess.

I'm going to post the one log I've seen requested a few times before...if there's anything else you would like to see let me know.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

(I also looked to see if I could find the old version to download so i could roll back my install but couldn't find anything.)

Turns out the logs won't upload...maybe too large?? being over 300k. Ideas?

Was reading one of the older threads and saw that sub mentioned to zip the file...here's my log.

Did you ensure that the two Hauppauge MediaMVP services are off and PVRX2 is not being blocked by a firewall?

Yeah, these symptoms sound very similar to those users that found PVRX2 was being blocked by their firewall.

Thanks to both of you. Turns out it was the firewall. :o :o I had never even been in to fiddle with those settings and so had read the comments but never looked into it far enough since the older versions had worked.

So it turns out this falls into the easy to fix (i.e. solution already here, sorry to waste your time) category.

Special props to sub too for all the hard work. I don't think any of us can say that enough.
