1.0.16 config is not finding any channels on my Twinhan Mantis DVB-C card. The Twinhan DigitalTV App is finding all channels correctly during a scan.

I'm running 1.0.16 on Vista 32bit, using Onboard S3 graphics from Asrock P4VM890.

Previously, with 1.0.8 on Vista 32bit and an Asus P4P800 (which has died recently), config did find the channels.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

here are the logs.

just to mention:
the graphics-card is dx7. i want to use this pc as a server for my other pc and the mvp. i can live with the stuttering playback on the server (caused by vmr9 i guess). on the mvp the playback is fine.

thx in advance for having a look!

There is no sign of any signal being detected.

Can you see the frequency and symbol rate of the channels in the Twinhan software? If so can you give me these details for a couple of example channels? I'll check these are the actually being scanned by GB-PVR. The default files are most like not correct for lots of cable systems.

new attachments containing:
- pics of setup, frequencies and scanning in Twinhan DigitalTV
- pics of setup, scanning in config
- latests logs
- the config-file used for scanning

both config-files for frequency-input (digiTV, config) are 'handmade'.
(on my old system, config did find channels with the default settings too).

during the latest scans, config did show some signal-strength again (it didn't when i sent last logs) but still refused to find channels (see pics)

latest logs attached.
btw, what is 8 meaning in C1,362000,6900,QAM64,8 ?

in the meantime i could at least successfully scan some channels.

what i've done:
- install / uninstall watchtvpro (to test bda-tuning)
- install sagetv (to test bda-tuning only Smile)
- delete / create the bda recording source from scratch again

guess it's probably been the re-creation of the recording source...

but there is still a difference to the tuning compared to the twinhan digitv-app.
- both apps (digitv and config) show the same signal-strength (>90%)
- digitv shows quality >90%, but config shows quality of ~30%.
- with config, some channels are still not found, and some are displayed as unknown.

so i have these questions left:

=> is there a way to influence the quality during scanning (e.g. using different mux, ...)?

=> what is 8 meaning in C1,362000,6900,QAM64,8 ?

thx for your support!

No, there isnt really any external settings like this that should help.

If it always shows 'unknown' for these same channels regardless of how many times you rescan, then we could look at you recording a 80MB or full transport stream file for me so I can run it up in the debugger here.

8 is the bandwidth = 8MHz. Its nearly always 8Mhz, though there is a couple of systems that use 7MHz.

fyi...

after uninstalling several apps (including sagetv) from my server, I had to re-install gb-pvr. the problem was there again! no signals found during scanning.

setting up the recording source from scratch didn't help, so i re-installed sagetv and voila... scanning is working again. must be some filter etc. that sagetv installs?

Nothing springs to mind. It should only need the drivers themselves.

One of those other apps may have "tweaked" the DVB tuning space registry settings from their normal/default settings causing some adverse effects?
