I use DVI out from Intel 945 graphics.
Powerstip is used to select a certain format as the EDID from the monitor lists less modes than it actually can display.
Once I switch the monitor to standby (ding dong sound from the computer) and back on again (dong ding sound from the computer) the output is set t o640x480 and 16 colors, that seems to be the most restricted output the Intel graphics can generate. After that I must use powerstrip again to force the "good" setting.
Is there a way to tell XP not to do all those intelligent things and never to change the resolution?
