I had a major problem with my GBPVR install over the weekend and almost all of my recordings were lost. The drive they are on was disconnected for some time and GBPVR managed to forget them somehow. I tried MpegImport, but that doesn't seem to do the trick. Is there another way to get the recordings back?

I'm running 1.0.16.

Did you back up your gbpvr directory first? There should be a recordings.xml which gbpvr outputs every time your EPG updates. This contains all your recordings that can be imported back using the config application.

first look for the recordings-dump.xml file as mentioned already. that should do it.

otherwise and this is a total guess, try running mpegimport on the machine that has the recordings on it. maybe it is not finding the hidden file containing the metadata when searching across the network. then edit the xml file and find/replace the drive / folder names to be what you expect them to be from the gbpvr's machines perspective.

when gbpvr starts, if it can't find a recording, it deletes it from the database
to disable this behaviour, edit config.xml in gbpvr folder and change this to false
