No DVB-S channels with HVR 4000

Hello to you all!

I'm posting this as a last resort, I have tried many times but still cannot setup my Hauppauge HVR 4000 with GB-PVR v1.0.16 - I have Win XP Pro.

I get the message 'no channels found' when I attempt to open the guide or live tv functions. I have set my capture source to BDA Recording Plugin on the HVR 4000 (DVB-S) with Astra 2A,B,D and have set the LNB up the same as my Sky box. I have installed the XMLTV GUI software to download epg updates from the Radio Times.

The thing is I can watch & record TV from Cyberlink Power Cinema & Nero Home so I'm sure I've just missed out some configuration! :confused:

Do you have single LNB or some diseqc or 22khz switch?

I'm not really sure, I think it is a single LNB on the dish and the 22KHz switch option is enabled on my sky box.

I suspect it might be a dual LNB with built in 22khz switch. Unfortunately GB-PVR only supports 22khz switches with the Twinhan cards.

Can you post screenshots of your working LNB configuration in the Power Cinema & Nero apps? It might give me some clues.

Ok - not sure what I'd done wrong, but I removed my card & re-added it again. This time I pressed the button to map the digital channels & the software has successfully found some of the channels listed in the epg!

Now I just need to find out why I'm not getting any BBC1 / BBC2 channels and why I have distorted sound on 2 channels...

With DVB devices, this is usually an indication the audio decoder you're using doesnt support something used in the specific audio encoding (bitrate etc) of that channel. I've seen this before, giving mickey mouse sounding audio on one channel - changing the audio decoder fixed it.
