Will a Celery 766 with an ATI AIW card (which has hardware decoding) and an Avermedia m150 be able to handle timeshifting and recording? I want to run windows xp stripped down (I know there is a program out there that will strip down windows xp and if anyone knows how I can get ahold of a copy please tell me!Wink. Right now I have 192 mb of ram for it, but realise I might have to upgrade. I am also planning to use an 80 gb WD SE (its what I have lying around) 7200 rpm hard drive. Tell me what you think? Do I need to upgrade the processor?

Hehe, I like your answer. I was just wondering if anyone had any luck with the setup? I actually haven't picked up the Celery yet or board. I just have the ram from an old upgrade and the hard drive sitting around and the ATI AIW sitting witht he hard drive. I have an avermedia m150 on the way from newegg. So I just wondering what everyone's thought on whether the 766 was going to power it. I am just curious what everyone else is getting away with.

I run GBPVR with a VIA C3 1 gig and 256Meg of ram with a PVR 250 and a Radeon 7000. The hard drive is 120gig 7200 8 meg cache segate harddrive. It also has overnet runnning 24/7 and it runs just fine.

I do however use win2k.

My gut feeling is with your proposed set up you will have no problems at all.

Yep, after looking around to see what everyone else is running. I pretty much came to the same conclusion. I would pretty much bet the C3 1 gig is roughly the same as an 800 Celeron (based on most websites comparing an 600 celeron and a via 800). Sounds rather comparable to me! Now I am all excited. Now to bug my buddy to give up his old board and proc and for newegg to get me my M150!!
