Just Inherited older Hauppage PVR Card

I just "inherited" an older Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-PCI (Model 880) capture card. I am interested in setting up a PC based PVR, but would I be spinning my wheels trying it with this older PVR card? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From this chart: Hauppauge products it looks as it may be close to the PVR-250 and 350 models, it does have hardware encoding.

Maybe Sub or someone else can point out some differences for PVRNewbie.
