There have been several suggestions for how to rename shows, etc. Most exceed my programming skills or require more time to implement than I have. As an alternative I found SQLiteSpy a freeware program at http://www.portablefreeware.com/?sc=140 that allows direct browsing of the DB and direct editing.
Since I am no SQL expert I limited myself to renaming a couple of Programmes titles that I had imported and had a title of "Imported on ...". Not knowing the structure and interdependencies of the tables I would do no more than that for fear of messing it up, but that's all I needed to do.
I will like to hear from anyone that tries it and can suggest more advanced uses of this tool, without screwing up the database of course
