new beta software for mvp

I have just downloaded and installed the latest software from hauppauge for the mvp 2.2.22281

but the newest dongle.bin doesn't seem to work with gbpvr

it loads up and displays the menu but the remote is totaly dead

there are no error messages in the logs it actually is as though somebody has removed the batteries from the remote !!

the new software seems to run a bit faster when using the default hauppgauge interface

reverting to the previous dongle.bin and everything is fine again

I have tryed this ver of Dongle.bin also. When booting the MVP
it only loads up 4 bars on the initial download and hangs.
Is there any fix yet?

I discovered that when I installed the new hauppauge software to obtain the dongle.bin I had forgotten to stop the hauppauge services from automatically starting.

Once I had stopped them I now find the latest dongle.bin works fine with gbpvr for me at least

tkgafs, any pointers on how to keep the hauppauge services from autoloading? I looked in all the usual places but this sucker is buried somewhere I'm not accustomed to looking.

In Windows 2000, select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
Find the two MVP services, can't remember there name off hand, then right click and properties, change the startup type to disabled.

I also recently bought a MediaMVP. If you are planning to use this with GB-PVR, you don't even need to install the software that comes with the MVP. I never even removed the CD from the sleeve, and my MediaMVP works great with GB-PVR.
