Seen a few threads about getting a hi-visibility skin but have not yet found exactly what I am looking for, so I finally decided to jump in at the deep end and see if I could make one of my own. Wanted something really simple to so as to get the maximum effect with the minimum hacking and maximum compatibility. Here it is...
Installation instructions...
- Copy the complete default blue skin (from gbpvr/skin2) and rename the folder "BigBlue".
- Open the zip folder and over-copy into your new "BigBlue" directory.
- Over-write my new "language.xml" into your main gbpvr installation direcrory.
Limitations...
- Its English only. I hacked the language.xml file to make the main menu text items really short and to take out any low hanging letters (g, p, y etc). Bit of a hack but the simplest way I could find to get really BIG text to fit.
- TV Guide only works with icons. Channel names are gone.
- Have cleaned up most of the text alignment, but have not done it everywhere in all modes.
- Have not done any plugins. Probably the changes to the default text sizes will make a bit of a mess here and there.
- Seems to work Ok on my system but no warranty of merchantability is given, expressed or implied etc etc...
Hope its of some use to someone... Going to run away if it causes any problems though...
