I'm not sure wtf is going on but just recently it has started to fail recordings, or it creates a 0-size file. It appears only 1 of my 2 tuners is recording (?) I'm not sure what the deal is or what I should do to attempt to fix it without breaking something. Logs attached, but there's not much in them that I can see. Wondering perhaps if I have a corrupted driver or something.

Thanks.

Can you set the logging level back to 'Debug' and also enable log flushing, then post the logs next time you have a recording fail?

Sure thing. Sorry I don't know why the log level got changed. I tried an uninstall/reinstall already and no change. Appears to be some sort of issue with 1 out of the 2 tuners (I have a PVR350 and a Blackbird, and it looks like it's the Blackbird that's making the 0-byte files/failing if I put it as the first tuner). Just trying to trace this down before I go crazy. Hoping this is some sort of fixable software problem and not a hardware problem, either!

Ok, new logs. Just went ahead and recorded Showbiz Tonight and Anderson Cooper 360 back to back (or attempted to) just as a test last night before I went to bed. Then I woke up this morning to a system running slow as hell with task manager showing the "System" process running at 100% for some odd reason. Not sure if that's related to this problem or not. Anyway please let me know how to proceed here Smile

Tried uninstalling and re-installing both drivers, didn't fix the problem.

I cant see those recordings in the logs. What times were those shows so I can narrow down where I'm looking in your logs?

I wonder what is causing the system process to be soaking up so much CPU. As you know, thats not a GB-PVR process, but it maybe related to the use of capture devices though. High CPU usage could certainly cause problems recording. You might have to try run perfmon or something similar to graph the system CPU usage over time to see if it starts at the same time as a recording.

I can see you havnt applied the patch from post #7 in the '1.0.16 survival guide', which will mean your EPG isnt updating. This is unlikely to be the cause of your problem though.

Nevermind sub, appears my secondary tuner card went south Sad Tried it in another machine altogether, set it up, set GB-PVR up, still just recorded 0-byte files. I need to get myself another tuner card now.

And yes, you are correct, I had to re-patch my installation after I tried uninstalling/re-installing (to fix the above problem) for the EPG updates.

I also ran memtest and found a bad memory stick in the process, but obviously this wasn't the cause of my 0-byte/failed recordings.

Now I'm fighting with a HVR-1600 card I just picked up and I cannot for the life of me get it working. GB-PVR keeps saying the drivers aren't installed, even though they are (twice!)? Any ideas?

Ok, nevermind yet again. Turns out this new stick of memory I put in this machine wasn't playing nice either. There's 3 mem slots in here, I had 2 x 512MB sticks in it, dropped in 1 1GB stick because I thought those sticks were bad (via the failed memtest run). Turns out the 1GB stick wouldn't pass memtest unless it was in the middle slot of the 3 (and only that slot) so now I'm wondering if my mobo in my PVR is going south, or if it's just being picky about memory.

Either way, now that THAT part is sorted out, I got the HVR-1600 sorted as well. I didn't realize I had to set it to tuner #1 (I thought being as I had multiple tuners I set this to #2). After I set it to #1 it stopped complaining about there not being a driver installed, and then I hit ok and GB-PVR quit with a .net error. Turns out this was because I disabled the recording service when playing presto-change-o with these stupid tuner cards. Set that back to automatic, now HOPEFULLY this thing will behave.

Really sucks that I had to buy a new tuner card though Sad Thanks for the help, sub.
