Hello,
I am just starting with creating my own DVR so please forgive me for my lack of knowledge...

In my DVR I have the following components:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+
1 Gig RAM
Hauppauge 1600
ASUS Geforce 7600GS 512MB GDDR2 PC-IEX
Vista Business Edition
Cyberlink PowerDVD7

So, on to my question(s)...
When I run the Mux Checker it shows no Muxers are installed. I've downloaded the MpgMux(5.0.0.1307).ax and the THMpgMux(5.0.0.2022).ax through one of the threads. How do I install these into the system?

Currently, when viewing live TV, with full screen, the picture seems to have fading images during any movement...like it's not refreshing the screen quickly enough. Would this have to do with the lack of a muxer or the video card? If it's the video card, what would be the recommended video card?

Thank you!

Save it into a directory, then run the regsvr32 command to register it:

regsvr32 c:\path\to\MpgMux(5.0.0.1307).ax

Be warned though, most ATSC users find they have to stick with the Microsoft DVR-MS mux.

No, this wouldnt be related to the mux. A mux isnt used during live tv. Its only used during recording, and doesnt affect this type of thing.

What you're describing probably comes down to either the decoder you're using or your video card.

Hi Sub,
Thank you for the quick response! I've got the Cyberlink PowerDVD7 decoder installed.

Any recommendations for a better decoder for the Vista OS?
Any recommendations for video cards?

Thank you!
