Hi all

I am just installing GBpvr to see if i like it better than WMC .
I have WMC running fine and it has no problems finding all channels available but I'm following the instructions to configure GBpvr and it will only find a few radio channels , bbc parliament and cbbeebies!

I have tried it a few times but with no joy.

what else can i do?

I like the look of GBpvr so far and think i would swap over if i can get all channels recognised.

BTW I'm on win 7 x64 and my tuner is a peak AF 9015 BDA

Thanks

replying to myself

I changed common interface from none as suggested in the guide to MDAP. this worked much better but didnt recognise the names of all the channels and when i try to watch them I cant due to poor signal!

all these channels are good on Windows media centre?

You might need to enabling the scanning 166KHz offsets option in the config app.

Or possibly select "all regions" in the source country selection box. There have been some MUX changes in UK freeview and your area may have changed. Which transmitter is serving you?

I have had a lot more luck when i changed to all regions!

Its not perfect. a lot of channels have no names and why do some channels have an audio channell next to them? do i include them as well?

My transmitter is sandy heath BYW

Looking at http://www.ukfree.tv/txdetail.php?a=TL204494 Sandy Heath does not change until next year.
When you see alternative audio descriptions, these are for broadcasting narrative audio - forget them.

Sometimes someone will pop up and supply a good scancache file that you can copy and rename - it depends on who is around
and where they are.

Seemingly there is a new version of the software undergoing tests at the moment and hopefully it's dvb scanning will be improved over the current version.
Unlike some of the open source software, updates are not that frequent here and usually a fairly big step when they occur. As ever, no promises though!

My experience has been that I get the best scan (no Unknown channels) by editing config.xml (using Notepad) and setting ...

<BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>60</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>

I think the default is 15.

Good Luck

Thanks That made a big difference! I have most channels I think
but the epg update froze !
the epg is now empty and when i click on a channel the screen goes blank for a second and the epg comes back.

I will try it again.

thanks
