Hi all,

I'm about to set up my first PVR solution and have a few questions.

Firstly I'm not really sure if I'm gonna use Windows Media Center or some other application, like GBPVR, but GBPVR does seem like a nice product.

My first concern is regarding the hardware. I have some spare parts that I was thinking of using. The CPU is an Athlon XP 2000+, and I was wondering if this is enough? I'm planning on buying a Haupauge WinTV PVR-500 that has onboard MPEG2-encoders.

I'm only gonna use the machine as a recording device, so no viewing or time-shifting.

Secondly, is there a EPG available for Sweden? (There probably is, although I haven't studied the docs all that much).

Thanks in advance!

Thats easily powerful enough for a recording server. You probably could of got by with half that.

GB-PVR just uses xmltv files you provide yourself. I'm fairly sure there is software you can download for creating xmltv files for Sweden though. There is quite a few other Swedish users here.

Welcome, Bergling Smile I'd recommend you take a look at tvxb (http://www.tvxb.com/). It works very well for me.
