Has anyone got a good guide of how to get these running togther in relation to IR and the blaster. I have been running a PVR150 with a blaster to STB. Yesterday I installed a Nova-HD-S2 that I got working, but I seem to cancel/mess up my 150's ir and blaster. In the end I had to remove the Nova card and All Happ drivers and software and re-install the 150 drivers and ir/blaster prog. (I keep a irremote.ini file backed up. Very handy)

In theory, shouldn't the Ir connected to the 150 contollboth cards?

Before you ask, I have to have a working 150/STB while I work out the NOVA quirks and setup with card reader, mdplugins etc and still keep the WAF high!

BTW I have a AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ and 1gb ram. Is this sufficient to run DVB S? I didn't have enough time to test as I hade to make sure I had a working setup before going to bed!

I was Impressed with the channels change speed on the Nova in PVRX2, way under 1 sec!

Yes.

Yep, that should be fine.

Thanks - I think GB-PVR is the quickest channel change time of all the apps. Mainly due to none of the others giving the live preview option.

Thanks, I'll try and install the Novaa again and be careful to just load up the drivers for the card.

Should I get it working well with the phoenix reader, I'll ditch the 150.

Gave it another last night and got it working as I found out the following. The ir bit on the 150 is not seen as a window hardware. The Nova's ir is a hardware in windows. This stops the 150 ir from working.

I cleared out all the blaster and ir drivers, and uninstalled the Nova's ir from hardware properties, and the rebooted. Canceled "found new hardware" for the Nova ir. Installed the 150 blaster driver/sw and got it working. Plugged in the ir that came with the nova and installed the ir driver and voila! It works.

So now the ir reciving is done by the Nova and of course, the blasting buy the 150.

Hope this helps. The reason also for all this is if cardsharing is not posssible (thinking 2 novas, 2 lnb's 1 phoenix cardreader) I will have one Lnb to STB to 150 and one LNB to the Nova. So then I can see and record 2 different channels.

This is one of the few links referencing the NOVA-HD-S2 so apologies for being cheeky and jumping in but can GBPVR actually use the HD side e.g. record and playback the MPEG4 and what codecs etc are needed?
Thanks a million for such a cool program.

GB-PVR is only able to use the DVB-S aspects of this device, not the DVB-S2. It can handle MPEG4 channels (if Cyberlink H.264 decoder is installed), but only on DVB-S/C/T not S2.
