Transponder multirec question (DVB only)

Something that MediaPortal server and the multirec branch of MythTV are capable of is performing multiple simultaneous recordings off the same digital tuner so long as the channels are all on the same transponder.

Also back to back recordings can be overlapped on the same tuner - probably the most common usage of that.

Is GBPVR capable of this or any plans to add it?

No, and its unlikely I'll be adding this feature. I dont think it's worth the development effort given the limitations it comes with.

Capture devices are pretty cheap these days so just add another device.

This is true, though PCI slots are getting short But USB devices are getting *really* cheap. Must admit I have 3x2 USB tuners now

It is disappointing that multirec is not coming to GB-PVR any time soon. I think this would be a great advantage over current. The ability to record all major freeview channels (or a subset of) simultaneously with just a couple of devices would be a major selling point to me and I think also many others.

Now MythTV 0.21 has released with support for this has the situation changed at all, or is the effort still outweighed by the possible rewards?
