I'm still having a problem with live TV. When an episode is over, playback stops, turns black, then the new episode starts. This seems fine to me, but I never have sound when the new episode starts. If I use the yellow button to go to last channel, then come back, the sound is there. Looking at the release notes from the maintenance build, I noticed that there is a new setting called "LiveTV Pre-Play". I guess I'm wondering what this setting does. should I try increasing it until live TV Works.

My appologies if this has been posted I could not find any recent posts explaining this. Oh yeah, I also tried using the bigger black mpeg.

Thanks

I changed both the "MVP live TV pre-play delay" and the "live tv pre-play delay" to 500ms. Still lose audio everytime a file switch occus watching live TV. I would like to know what these settings do. I assume it's kind of a buffer before video starts on the device. At any rate, is anyone else having this problem with the latest release and the MVP watching live TV?

"live tv pre-play delay" is not used with the MVP, but its MVP equivalent is "MVP live TV pre-play delay". All this does, is when it is time to tell the MVP to start playing a video file, it delays this number of milliseconds to give the recording a chance to grow a little bit larger.

Its intended to fix stuttering that can occur when the playback position bumps in the recording position. The small delay gives the recording position a chance to get a little way ahead.

Does the new file have audio if you play it back with another player (windows media player for example)? i.e. is it a recording or playback problem?

OK, I ran a little test just now. My MVP is set to liveTV, so a file is being generated. I copied the file to another location. Using Windows Media player there is no sound. I tried playing back another recording using media player and there is sound. So it seems to be a recording problem. I did not expect this.

Just performed a few other tests, using GBPVR on the PC, and playing with the clock to cause a liveTV file switch. Same results, the files are being recorded with no sound.

So it definetly appears to be a recording issue and not a playback issue.

Just want to clarify that live TV works when I first start viewwing, it's during the file switch that I lose audio.

Do you know what version of PVR250 drivers you're using?

according to the device manager:

I'll check for updates and let you know if it works out.

I downloaded the latest version of the driver from Hauppauge. The device manager reports the version as 1.18.21.22266. Problem still exists.

I'm not sure if the driver is installing correctly, I would have expected the version to be 2.2.22292. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, I'll search the shs forums, unless someone else has any suggestions.

Sub,

Maybe this topic should be moved to the general support forum. When I initially had the problem I assumed it was an MVP problem.

everyong else, could you check your 250 driver version for me? Maybe let me know what you are running. Also, does anyone know if the driver version displayed in the device menage accuratly reflects the current driver version?

Thanks
