Hi JW,

I'd like the ability for MW to automatically copy show details from one show to another for an EXACT name match.

I believe this will stop a false IMDB lookup and download of the wrong movie details many times for a series.

e.g I have a prison of war camp series called Changi (Singapore), which MW downloads each time as the movie "Changing Lanes" with Samuel L Jackson it now shows I have 14 copies of this movie!

I added the details to the first show manually, but what I'd REALLY like for MW to do is once I have added all the details for those subsequent shows called Changi EXACTLY the same as the first one, to COPY those details to any show called JUST "Changi" in future.

I reckon that could be a good addition!

I think what you are asking is that the MovieWiz DB become a source for movie info just like IMDB and TheTvDb.

Does your show have info in the EPG? If so, would that data be sufficient to populate into MovieWiz.

or

Does your show have Title AND Episode in the EPG? Is the idea to ONLY match on Title, and if an exact match use that info?

No, not all, just for show details I add manually, when they are so obsurce or uncommon that they would never be found. It'd be home use only...

No, I don't have a great source, I use TVxB, which scrapes off the local stations. That's why MovieWiz is GREAT for me. It fills in ALL the gaps.

No, Just Title and Date. Idea is just match the show name, I don't add episode details. I could later if need be, but I'm happy with just SHOW details.

Another use for this could be if you're in a situation where you've moved all your films from one folder/drive to another like I did recently. Try as I might I couldn't figure out a way to automate this process and ended up having to redo all of the shows manually!

I thought it might have been something to do with the archive options but that didn't seem to do anyway.

Sorry guys, I have not had much time to work on any significant changes for awhile. I've got a new job assignment that is consuming my time and business trips every couple of weeks....

I plan on getting back to making changes as soon as things settle down a bit, but that may be several weeks off.

Hey Java,

Just wondering if this was something you'd had a chance to add to either of the new versions? I saw there was a new copy show button in the interface but it looked like it was just for setting defaults or something?

In version 1.0.15.0 I added the following:
Added concept of a ‘Default Entry’ for series. A single show may be marked as default. If any lookup for show with the same title (ie series (not episode)) not found, the default entry details will be used to populate new entry (including thumbnail)

I think that addressed JKSmurf's request..

For this one, the Archive options on the 'Plugin Settings' tab are what you want.

Add the directory(ies) where you have moved your files to the list. Select the 'Include SubDirs' if multiple subdirectories are present that you want to search. Be aware that this could slow down the lookup process depending on how many directories exist.

Then when the plugin runs, and it cannot find one of the entries, it will search the the Archive Locations list to see if the entry has been moved to one of the archive locations.

Additionally, you can also physically change the entry by clicking on the 'Sync' button on the 'Manage Content' tab (if you are NOT a client).

Great thanks, see how that's working now.

On the 2nd issue - please see my other post about network shares for the latest issue I've encountered which is somewhat related to this!
