Hi, I have recently setup an HTPC using GBPVR. Everything works great except for LiveTV. I have a Theater 550 pro, TV plays fine initially, but after about 15mins of TV watching, the video and audio would stutter, and restarting the program is the only way to resolve the issue. Any thoughts?

Its most likely related to the combination of audio/video decoder you're using.

I was just about to re-post to list my decoders.

I'll have to try all combinations in order to determine if it has an effect. But it's funny how everything else plays well and TV would do ok for a certain duration. I shall give it a more thorough test and see what happens

Im having this exact problem have played with all my decoders and it still does it.

Usually about 30 seconds in. It used to work fine but I decided to change my video card from a 7800GT to a HD2600 for the hardware acceleration, did a reformat and no matter what I do I cant get it working without the stuttering about 30 seconds in.

Your symptoms sound slightly different to the ones I had when I suffered stuttering but have you:

1. Replaced quartz.dll to counter the stutter bug
2. Checked that it's not your TV that's the problem? For me it turned out that although I could output 1360x768, the TV would stutter after a while as it was trying to scale down everything to 720p. Now I output at 1280x720, everything is smooth, took me ages to suss that one out!

I will check out the Quartz.dll swap. Im pretty sure its not the tv. Im using a 19" Widescreen monitor and it worked fine before I reformatted and I had my 7800gt video card in there. Its only been since the format and the change to the hd2600 card. I may put the 7800 back in there and see if Im still having the problem after the quartz change.

Thanks for the response.

I have an 8500 nvidia card, amd dual processor, 2 gigs memory.

1.2.9 Gbpvr

After playing live tv for about 10 seconds there is audio studder then goes silent, after a few about 15 more seconds the video will studder.

Have tried several comibinations of audio and video decoders.

There is no problem playing the show with VLC (I have the hdhome run) and in the GBPvr setup the shows play fine in the maping window.

any suggestions?
