Yeah, the advantages/disadvantages go both ways. Other programs don't like DVR-MS as much as .ts. Staatik's auto-cutter/converter script with Mencoder doesn't like some DVR-MS, and maybe it's just mine but GBPVR's built-in transcoder won't do anything with a DVR-MS file. Those are big disadvantages imo.

Having enough tuners takes care of the "can't watch while recording" problem, and Haali's splitter takes care of the filter problem. Just depends which disadvantages you prefer.
