Web interface not asking for login credentials

I used the GBPVR web admin remote access very successfully last year while I was on vacation. I normally leave the web interface disabled to prevent hacking attempts but I'm about to go on a business trip so I enabled it again. However, I've just noticed that GBPVR doesn't ask me for any login details any more - it just lets anyone connect and have complete control!

I had the same user name and password set up so I thought it could be a cached password issue but changing it doesn't fix the problem.

The only thing that has changed since last year is that I've upgraded to v1.1.5. I've just updated the EWA version, but the problem is still there.

Any ideas?

Are you accessing it from the LAN, or across the Internet?

LAN access only requires authentication for the configuration page. Also, the configuration page has a field to determine what IP addresses can access EWA unauthenticated.

Did you set a guest user id and password in the config page. Otherwise you get guest access to the EWA without any credentials (this way you can only view and not change anything).

Another item might be the automatic login range. If you are within this range it will not ask for any credentials. In you case you might want to completely empty the automatic login range.

Thanks guys - it was the automatic login feature kicking in on the config page.

Is this a new feature? I'm sure I tested login access last year using the local LAN before enabling it for Internet access and I'm sure it asked me for a user name and password then...

The auto-login feature was first added in Build 14 on 04-17-2005....it was revised to work based on IP in build 33 on 03-13-2006.
