Turning TV off and on again gives blank screen

Setup: Asus P5E-VM HDMI motherboard with on-board Intel graphics, connected via HDMI to a Sony LCD TV.

If I turn the TV off and then back on again when GBPVR is running, all I get is a black screen. If I move the mouse, the pointer appears. I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del and kill pvrx2 from task manager. Most bizarrely, the screen resolution changes down to 800x600.

None of the above happens if I don't have PVRX2 running, i.e. if I just turn the TV off and on again with just the Windows desktop displaying, it works just fine.

What can be causing this frustrating behaviour?!?

It'll be something funky to do with HDMI handshaking. Most likely a bug in your video drivers.

I cant explain why you'd only get it in GB-PVR. GB-PVR has no idea you've turned your tv off/on, and shouldnt have to do anything in response to this happening.

Thanks. I've now reported it to Intel, who are saying it's a problem with the motherboard... This one could run for a while! Meanwhile I'll try connecting the PC with a VGA cable instead - I'm assuming that will make it go away.
