I supposed one could take the episode title and descriptions and add them to the description of the new very long show. But it's so terribly sloppy...

If I understand you correctly (not sure that I do) this would make it possible to record multiple shows that are on the same channel after each other (channel 1: show 1[1am-2am], show 2[2am-3am], show 3[3am-4am]). It sounds good and I'm happy that you are thinking about doing this. However, what I was talking about was simultaneously recording multiple programs from multiple channels with one tuner (channel 1: show 1[1am-2am], channel 2: show 1[1am-2am]).

You're right. I won't be doing that. I'm address an old analog issue of pre-post padding, back to back shows. True enough muxing together several channels is a cool idea. That's out of my league for right now

Where I live, I would only need three boards (nova-t-500 twin dvb-t) to record the whole output of my local (50 miles way) transmitter. 33 something TV channels.

Now when will Petabyte drives be available???. I doubt I would have time to watch any of it though.

MythTV can now do this.
I have a friend that has 3 tuner cards and recorded 15 channels simultaneously.

that's ok to show off. on the other side: i have about 16 channels broadcast via DVB-T, half of which i never switch to. not even accidentaly Wink
why would i bother to record them all? another thing: the channels on one mux don't tend to broadcast shows simultaneous which i deem worth recording, so it's rather seldom that i would need this feature.
as a side note: i still have only one tuner & with recording of reruns in the night we still have more than enough recordings but barely the time needed to watch them all Big Grin
i might buy a second tuner when we have more spare time to watch, but then again: f§#ck TV, there is a first live out... there better go to the zoo with the kids for that money Big Grin
