New here would like some info on GBPVR

Hi there, im new here to GBPVR and was hopeing that some of you may be able to answer some Qs before I install the program.

My current Media Center set up is running MCE2005 with 1x PVR150 MCE with NZ Sky comeing into it via the componant cables, I have just purchased a PVR4000 which supports DVB-S, DVB-T and a Analouge.

Will GBPVR allow me to set up all the tuners on the PVR4000 so I can record on one while watching another channel, does it support haveing the PVR150 & PVR4000 in the same machine with out haveing to hack files like MCE2005 requires.

What sort of help can I get from here on the setting up of GBPVR when its first installed,

The HVR4000 while listed as a quad tuner card is not a "quad tuner card at the same time". It will only run one tuner at a time (and gbpvr or anything else for that matter) wont run the analogue side as it lacks a hardware encoder needed by these types of programs.

And no you should have to hack anything like mce..

Welcome to GBPVR Hotdog! I hope you find that the program meets and exceeds your expectations. The forums here are the friendliest around with many, many members willing to help out. The developer of GBPVR (his nick is Sub) is great and is almost always on the forums answering questions. (Many of us wonder if he ever gets any sleep.)

I'm not familiar with the PVR4000 but I can tell you that GBPVR will let you record one TV program while watching another via multiple supported tuners. There may times that you will have to edit a configuration file or two but usually nothing traumatic. As I mentioned, there are plenty of people here who I'm sure will offer you some tips and advice. While you wait for answer I recommend checking out the Wiki. It is an excellent source of information and is kept up to date pretty well. Also the forum's search tools are pretty good, you may want to do a quick search to see if anyone's asked about PVR4000 before.

Cheers guys ill get a post up in the support forum about getting my PVR150 set up first before I start on the DVB-S card
