Who turned on the music?

While a playlist is active, is there a way to find out what app (music library/netradio/etc) started the playlist? Also can I find out what's in NowPlaying?

No. The app doesnt keep track of what requested the music playback.

Also can I find out what's in NowPlaying?

If your plugin supports IEventNotification then it should be notified of which song begins playing, and when it stops.

When I say NowPlaying, I'm referring to what is in @NowPlaying.

Also for netradio, is there an easy way to find out the station name?

Sorry, no, there isnt currently a way to get this info. The API lets you set the value, but not query it.

I've just had a very pleasant stroll down a brand new path (as usual I left a trail of string, so I was able to get back)

I tuned in to "The Eagle @ 181.fm - Real Classic Rock" and logged "IEventNotification" activity - turns out that round about the time they put out their station message (after every two songs), the "CurrentAudioTrack eventText" shows the station name for between about 5 and 15 seconds before changing to the new song.

So the station name is there, and could possibly be extracted from the stream by assuming that any song less than say 25 secs was the station title - not clever...

There will be some way of doing it - but not tonight...

Anyway, although I didn't find what I was looking for, I did see some interesting things on the way - and I had fun... is it time I was getting out more again...
