I'm a new gbpvr user, trying to get it all up and running. I think I'm doing a good job so far, but one rather irritating problem is the following. When watching live tv, the image I see when using gbpvr is smaller than the one I see when using the television without gbpvr. In the nvidia driver there's an option to zoom in or out. But when I zoom in enough to make the picture the same size as the original, the menu of gbpvr starts falling of the left edge. Same with the tvguide on the bottom. Is there a way to only zoom the video stream but not the gbpvr-specific screens? (I hope I'm making myself clear, sorry for the english!)

A bit of info: the television is an older crt television, the tv-card is a hauppauge wintv-pvr 350, and the video card is a geforce4 mx440. I know, that's old, but I'm trying it all out before investing in better hardware.

Hi,
this is my first post.. so.. here goes.

I Believe you will need to press the F7 key to rotate to the proper aspect you're looking for.
pressing the F7 once you're in live TV will present different aspects, check it out and see if it works for you...

I found this while searching the forum.

nVidia's forceware also has an option to repoosition the display (I thought it was under the same section for resizing)

I'm at work now, but I'll check when I get home (if you haven't found it already)

The aspect ratio is correct (it's on auto mode). The other settings only make it worse. I noticed the following while playing with the F7 key. The tv is 4:3. Some channel is broadcasting in 16:9, so that gives me black borders on top and bottom. When I look with gbpvr, then the left and right edges of the image are exactly at the edges of the screen. When I look tv without gbpvr, it appears that the image is zoomed in a bit: the left and right edges fall of the screen, and the black top and bottom are, lets say, 2 centimers less in height. Maybe it's the tv that's doing weird things then?

@philly_phenom: yes, I say those buttons in the driver too, but that's not my problem... I could move the image a bit to the right and top to have gbpvr's menu's intact, but then I would loose a part on the right and top too..

What resolution are you using? If you are not already doing so, set it to 640x480 (greater than that doesn't help anyway since your set can only do 480i anyway).

if you are using another, make sure that it is a resolution that fits the 4:3 aspect ratio. you can take the first number, divide by 4 & multiply by 3 - if this gives you the second number, the aspect ratio of your display is correct.

It's at 800x600. Can't set it to 640x480 because the driver doesn't allow me. I already tried 1024x768 too, but that is the same problem.

You might want to have a play with the following in Program Files/Devnz/gbpvr/config.xml (back it up before making any changes!Big Grin)

<!-- zoom control -->
<HorizontalZoom>1.00</HorizontalZoom>
<HorizontalOffset>0</HorizontalOffset>
<VerticalZoom>1.00</VerticalZoom>
<VerticalOffset>0</VerticalOffset>

Welcome to the board BTW!

That's it! Thank you! I use 1.15 for both horizontal and vertical, and now it's about the same size as the original! Smile

Thanks! Looks like a great and friendly community (unlike some other boards out there..)

It seems that I have some other problems too now, but I'll start a new topic for that..
