Manual Recording and "Recordings to keep"

I've been having a small problem with EWA/GBPVR and am hoping for some pointers. I would like to record a copy of the 12:00 news every day, in the event that I have time to watch it in the evening. In a previous thread here I learned that I have to use a manual recording because every 30 mins the show is repeated, with the same title, so setting up a recording of the named show with a specific time slot results in 3 consecutinve shows being recorded. Since it's only the most recent showing that I'm interested in, I'd like to keep just 1 copy, although 2 would be fine too. I have repeatedly tried to do this through EWA but GBPVR keeps adding recordings to the folder, never deleting the old ones. Is there anything different about a manual recording that would cause this problem?

When I setup a manual recording with gbpvr, I do not get the option to "keep" xx copies.
For me, this option only occurs with season recordings (and works well).

I think it would have to be back to season recordings with a zero sized time window to do what you want. However this has a downside for normal recordings of course.

Maybe some for of external batch/script file to delete files older than xx days in that directory??

What is your EPG source? I believe there is a SchedulesDirect only feature in GBPVR to not record duplicates.....but I am not positive about that.

Thanks for the replies guys. Maybe I'm misunderstanding things here so let me be a bit more explicit. I'm running gbPVR 1.29, with whatever version of EWA that includes, SchedulesDirect for EPG. I go to EWA with a Web browser, and on the TV Guide tab in the upper left I click on Manual Record. It brings up a dialog box for the time and date, and in the middle right hand side is a text box that says "Recordings to keep". What I thought this would do is, if I set up a 30 min manual recording every day at 12:00 and typed 2 into that text box, GBPVR would only keep the most recent 2 episodes. Does the "Recordings to keep" do something else?

I believe what you state is correct....I have never used it to tell you the truth....it is a value that is available to set in the API.

sub can provide the exact answer as to what the Number of Recordings to Keep value is to do.

I have a feeling "recordings to keep" doesn't work with manual recordings, but it would take the boss to to confirm or deny.
For sure, the option is not there with the pvrx2 interface manual recordings.
It is there with season recordings and does work.
