OK - I'm not that old...:eek:

Funnily enough, I don't really have a problem paying for a 'licence to operate television receiving equipment' - approx £12 per month is not bad for 4 TVs and 2 PVRs. The fact that most of it goes to fund the BBC makes it tolerable - in general, I think the standard of programming on the beeb is still very high - and no commercial ads... I shudder to think how far down into the cesspit of 'Reality TV' (what's real about it), 'Talent?' competitions and late night "let's get some money off the drunks coming in from the pub" phone-in quiz competitions, TV would sink without the beeb...
