Is there a way to make moviewiz automatically rescan the directories every x number of days for new films?

I suppose that it would be possible to spawn a thread when the plugin loaded, but...

• which directories should it scan?
  
• should it import new recordings as well?
  
• importing is disk and processor intensive, could very well slow down processing while import is functioning thus causing sluggish reponse time if something else is functioning.

Yes, that is exactly what the batch interface is for. I think JKSmurf has done this and may have some examples.

Yup. See the line I put in a MovieWiz.bat file, which I schedule using WinXP Scheduler.
