Hi,

For the last couple of weeks my computer has started acting funny with all sorts of things happening. My 100% CPU issue is back when I use USBUIRT as a receiver. Last time that happened a restart helped, but not this time Sad That aside, tonight several recordings have been missed. According to windows task manager, the recording service is still running.

In the attached logs, you can see at 2008-04-22 03:04:01.626 that House is pending for tonight (for right now, actually). At 2008-04-22 06:58:00.190 it says its about to record Backyardigans, but it was never recorded.

I don't know whether it's related (I don't really think so, since they have been in the logs every night for quite a while, and still things get recorded), but I see a bunch the following errors in the logs:

Code:
2008-04-22 05:54:00.048    VERBOSE    [13]    RecordingFactory.loadScheduleRecordingByOID()
2008-04-22 05:54:00.048    VERBOSE    [13]    About to start transcode of: Vad är en människa?
2008-04-22 05:54:00.048    ERROR    [13]    Unexpected error in ConversionProcessing.WorkerThread(): System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Length cannot be less than zero.

2008-04-22 05:55:00.166    VERBOSE    [13]    About to start transcode of: Vad är en människa?
2008-04-22 05:55:00.166    ERROR    [13]    Unexpected error in ConversionProcessing.WorkerThread(): System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Length cannot be less than zero.

Another funny thing is the pvr2.exe-native.log, which contains almost nothing but a thousand new lines? Smile

I'm starting to think that maybe a total reinstall of the machine might be good, but that's not something I'm looking forward to.

Can you see anything from the logs?

Without restarting anything, I tried watching tv (live), and got this in the pvrx2.exe.log:
Code:
2008-04-22 22:07:39.423    VERBOSE    [1]    Recieved popup callback Watch
2008-04-22 22:07:39.439    VERBOSE    [1]    PreviewLiveTV(1)
2008-04-22 22:07:39.439    VERBOSE    [1]    PreviewLiveTV() done
2008-04-22 22:07:39.455    VERBOSE    [1]    Changing channels with USB-UIRT
2008-04-22 22:07:39.455    VERBOSE    [1]    getValue() loading new key/value into cache: /settings/RecycleUSBUIRT
2008-04-22 22:07:39.455    VERBOSE    [1]    getValue: /settings/RecycleUSBUIRT : true
2008-04-22 22:07:39.502    VERBOSE    [1]    USB-UIRT using repeat count: 3
, and then pvrx2.exe went into a 100% CPU again. Is my USB-UIRT giving up on me? Sad

To be honest, I'm not really sure what to suggest on the USB-UIRT front. I've never sen the problem here. Admittedly I dont use the USB-UIRT much these days though.

Is there any messages in the -native.log?

Are you sure there is no other software on your machine trying to use the USB-UIRT?

Have you tried unplugging it and moving it to a different USB port?

Nope, no new messages in there Sad

As sure as they get Wink

I tried just unplugging it and replugging it. "Your USB device is malfunctioning and Windows does not recognize it". So I tried moving it. No reaction at all from the machine. I tried moving it back again. Still nothing. So, I moved it to another port and restarted the machine. For now it seems to work, but I'm not convinced it will stay that way until I've seen it Wink

Maye it's time to start the project of using my phoenix reader and get rid of the usb-uirt and the STB/pvr-350 combo Smile

Did you fix things so that GBPVR does not try to use multidec on non-encrypted channels? Because, as you might remember, I never did get my nova-t-500 to work at all when I had multidec enabled... (admittedly a long time ago I gave it a try)

I think so. We dont have a mixed combination of encrypted and non-encrypted channels here (they all encrypted), so I havnt explicitly tested it, but I did make changes which should have helped.
