Here in the UK the Snooker Championship is showing live on channels 301 & 302 on DigitalTV. As the program scan doesn't pick these up as channels is there anyway i can manually add them?

I'm assuming that you are using Freeview...

I believe 301 & 302 are 'Press red button now' channels - they both show in my line up - no EPG info, but I can select and watch them.

Try rescanning at a time when they are actually transmitting...

I did that just yesterday.
Config, Capture Sources, add 301 and 302, then click map channels and let it scan - it will pick up 301 and 302 (well mine did) and just map those channels to the ones you added to the list. Forget epg, the tv guide just has half hour segments with "no details" or whatever, you can watch or record with no problem.
