Hi all

Have another query. Smile

I am using the mvpmc dongle and am now very happy with the picture. The problem I have at the moment is that on all my movies there is a small lag in the audio. You see the folks talking then maybe a second later you actually hear the sound.

I know that it is not the files themselves as they play perfectly on the pc and on my divx dvd player.

All the movies have the same delay. Is there any setting that I can tweak to correct this?

Thanks in advance.

Playback of non-MPEG2 video can be a bit hit or miss on the MVP. The hardware is only able to play MPEG1/MPEG2 and MP3 files. Any other video type you try to play causes the application to run ffmpeg in the background to convert the file to MPEG2 for playback on the MVP. Depending on the exact details of file ffmpeg may to a good job or a not so good job.

In summary, anything other than .mpg/.mp3 files can be dodgy on the MVP./

They advertise it as divx compatible on the box and the manual.

Would ffmpeg have any tweaks that could fix this maybe?

Thanks

The hardware cant play anything other than MPEG1/MPEG2 and MP3 files. At some point Hauppauge included software to try to convert divx files to MPEG2, much like GB-PVR does. The reality is that anything other than .mpg/.mp3 is only going to work well if luck is on your side.

Maybe. The defaults generally work well for most people, but its definitely not perfect. You can try tweaking the <MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLinePAL> setting in config.xml with any alternative ffmpeg command lines you want to test.

I will do some research into the command line parameters of ffmpeg.

Thank you for your input.
