I'm having some trouble with my MediaMVP and Gbpvr and mpeg files. When I use the skip function, usually in reverse, audio sync is lost. If I repeat a few times, I can regain sync. Is this a format issue? If so, what format can I use that is better?

What is your recording source? Is it digital (QAM, DVB) or is it analog like from PVR 150? I have seen issues with DVB produced mpeg streams through the MVP. I read that the timing components of the stream are very picky and can be thrown out of sync easily. I have no issues on analog recordings. The MVPMC dongle seems to work better for me on the digital recordings. YMMV.

The source is a DVD. I convert them using TMPMpeg into a mpeg-2 file. This generally works great on my TIVO, but I'd rather not pay a monthly fee for that! The funny thing is that the audio usually is just fine, but if I skip back (I've become completely addicted to the instant-replay feature of Tivo) sometimes the sync is lost. I can get it to resync by doing a few more skips, eventually it does one where the sync is good. Maybe it's something to do with how the player picks up in the middle of a file?

Unrelated, should I be able to resume playing a movie file? I always have to start at the beginning, which is really annoying.
