Apologies if this is not in the right section.

I've recently bought the following TV card:

Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T 500 Dual digital DVB-T PCI TV Tuner card

I rebuilt my machine (P4 with 1GB RAM) at the same time and it's now running XP SP2 with DirectX 9.0c. Installed the card driver and then installed ChrisTV 5.1.2 Professional.

Initially I installed GBPVR but after having a few issues ran a search on the GBPVR forum and there was a thread stating GBPVR was overkill if all you wanted to do was watch TV through the PC (which I do) and that you should use something like ChrisTV.

However it turns out you can't use ChrisTV with a digital tuner.

Can anyone recommend another piece of software that I can use instead?
I've seen a lot of bad reviews about WinTV so don't really want to use it unless I have to....

Thanks!

i would use wintv for that...most of those reviews are commenting on the pvr recording part, which it sucks at..but it's live tv works with digitals and works fine for livetv...decent features in that area [channel mappings, analog and digs,osd,etc..]

Another one I've used is DVBDream http://www.dvbdream.org/ although it will only use one tuner AFAIK. Just wondering why you bought a dual tuner if you only want to watch TV on a PC, I'd have thought a £10 USB stick would have done??

In the little I'm looking right now I'm having a hard time finding whether TwinhanDTV is made only for Twinhan cards or not, so maybe it would work with any digital card. Can always delete it if it doesn't. I used it for awhile and don't recall any problems at all with it. It autoscanned the channels, has VCR-like recording, a built-in short EPG, and it was problem-free. The only annoyance was figuring out to checkmark one option so it didn't shut off after recording something, I think.

If you're talking about the thread I'm thinking of, the main point was the person didn't want to mess with an EPG with GBPVR. As I wrote in that one, I can use GBPVR OTA without an EPG no problem. But I'm guessing you had problems other than the EPG.
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:
