I am unable to support a beta version on an emulator (Project64 v 1.7.0.49) which I cannot test, its a donation only release and even if I wanted to donate to something I dont use (which I dont) the donation site is down.

I would therefore ask that you try with the public released supported version 1.6 then we can compare notes on our findings.

Here is the entries from my log associated with the selection of the game, as you can see this is should be exactly the same as yours

Code:
2008-06-12 17:56:02.765 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Entering getROMsystemNames 2008-06-12 17:56:02.765 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Entered getROMPathNames 2008-06-12 17:56:02.765 INFO [1] GameZone: selected Filename = C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\GameZone\Paths\N64\N64 2008-06-12 17:56:02.765 INFO [1] GameZone: Line being analysed = n64|z64|v64;C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\N64\Roms\ 2008-06-12 17:56:02.765 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: directory has been requested to be changed to: C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\N64\Roms\ 2008-06-12 17:56:02.765 VERBOSE [1] getValue cached value: /settings/ActiveSkin : blue 2008-06-12 17:56:02.765 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Displaying file C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\skin2\blue\gamezone\N64.jpg

This next set of log entires is a bit furthur down in the log files and shows the launching of the game.

Code:
2008-06-12 17:56:03.640 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Entering Controown, Command received Return 2008-06-12 17:56:03.640 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Command Received as per keymappings = GameZone_Enter 2008-06-12 17:56:03.640 INFO [1] GameZone: N64: selected Filename = C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\N64\Roms\AsteroidsHyper64.z64 2008-06-12 17:56:03.640 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Snapshot feature is enabled checking for image 2008-06-12 17:56:03.640 INFO [1] GameZone: No snapshot foundC:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\N64\Roms\AsteroidsHyper64 2008-06-12 17:56:03.640 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Snapshot feature is enabled No image was found, launching game 2008-06-12 17:56:03.656 INFO [1] GameZone: Entering Launch, Media = IMG 2008-06-12 17:56:03.656 INFO [1] GameZone: FileName = C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\N64\Roms\AsteroidsHyper64.z64 2008-06-12 17:56:03.656 INFO [1] GameZone: selectedEmulator = N64: 2008-06-12 17:56:03.656 INFO [1] GameZone: emulatorpath = C:\Program Files\Project64 1.6\ 2008-06-12 17:56:03.656 INFO [1] GameZone: emulatorarg = 2008-06-12 17:56:03.656 INFO [1] GameZone: DisplayFileName = AsteroidsHyper64 [B]2008-06-12 17:56:03.656 INFO [1] GameZone: emulatorExe = x64.exe[/B] 2008-06-12 17:56:03.656 VERBOSE [1] Adding game details to fav database 2008-06-12 17:56:03.656 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Entered AddTopTen 2008-06-12 17:56:03.718 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Entered SQLInsUpd 2008-06-12 17:56:03.765 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Exited SQLInsUpd 2008-06-12 17:56:03.765 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Entered SQLInsUpd 2008-06-12 17:56:03.796 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Exited SQLInsUpd 2008-06-12 17:56:03.796 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Exited AddTopTen 2008-06-12 17:56:03.796 INFO [1] GameZone: N64 emulator launched project64.exe C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\N64\Roms\AsteroidsHyper64.z64 2008-06-12 17:56:03.875 INFO [1] Project64 2008-06-12 17:56:03.875 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Exiting Launch

what is interesting here and different from your logs is the entry for x64.exe, now in the code this isnt used instead it is overwritten by code to be project64.exe, but why is mine putting x64.exe in the first place whereas yours does not. As this is the only difference I can see, assuming your logs and results stay the same once you try v1.6 of projectx then its the only thing I have to go on. as mine works great!

I will check this out later if I get chance.

Cheers

Ok,

I have looked through the code and it is correct what I was seeing regarding the x64.exe as I said previously it is overwritten prior to the launching of the projectx emulator. the reason it was set to x64.exe is because I have winvice x64.exe setup and enabled.

I have now disabled winvice c64 and the log entries are identical to your (please check and confirm) except mine works and yours does not.

Code:
2008-06-12 20:10:42.265 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Entering Controown, Command received Return 2008-06-12 20:10:42.265 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Command Received as per keymappings = GameZone_Enter 2008-06-12 20:10:42.265 INFO [1] GameZone: N64: selected Filename = C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\N64\Roms\AsteroidsHyper64.z64 2008-06-12 20:10:42.265 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Snapshot feature is enabled checking for image 2008-06-12 20:10:42.265 INFO [1] GameZone: No snapshot foundC:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\N64\Roms\AsteroidsHyper64 2008-06-12 20:10:42.265 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Snapshot feature is enabled No image was found, launching game 2008-06-12 20:10:42.281 INFO [1] GameZone: Entering Launch, Media = IMG 2008-06-12 20:10:42.281 INFO [1] GameZone: FileName = C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\N64\Roms\AsteroidsHyper64.z64 2008-06-12 20:10:42.281 INFO [1] GameZone: selectedEmulator = N64: 2008-06-12 20:10:42.281 INFO [1] GameZone: emulatorpath = C:\Program Files\Project64 1.6\ 2008-06-12 20:10:42.281 INFO [1] GameZone: emulatorarg = 2008-06-12 20:10:42.281 INFO [1] GameZone: DisplayFileName = AsteroidsHyper64 2008-06-12 20:10:42.281 INFO [1] GameZone: emulatorExe = 2008-06-12 20:10:42.281 VERBOSE [1] Adding game details to fav database 2008-06-12 20:10:42.281 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Entered AddTopTen 2008-06-12 20:10:42.343 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Entered SQLInsUpd 2008-06-12 20:10:42.390 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Exited SQLInsUpd 2008-06-12 20:10:42.390 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Entered SQLInsUpd 2008-06-12 20:10:42.421 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Exited SQLInsUpd 2008-06-12 20:10:42.421 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Exited AddTopTen 2008-06-12 20:10:42.421 INFO [1] GameZone: N64 emulator launched project64.exe C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gamezone\N64\Roms\AsteroidsHyper64.z64 2008-06-12 20:10:42.515 INFO [1] Project64 2008-06-12 20:10:42.515 VERBOSE [1] GameZone: Exiting Launch

I installed 1.6, and all works well! I guess if I have to use 1.7.0.49 I'll just have to use it through XtraEmulators. Thanks for all your time.Big Grin

as its a beta you may want to offer feedback to the Project64 devs about the sudden change, if its not gaining any advantage then it shouldnt be like that. it would be interesting to see if they are planning to add more command line arguaments.

Glad you got it workin with 1.6,

Cheers

Not sure if this is the same thing you guys were talking about, but I see ePSXe 1.7.0 here from what seems to be the official site for download without out any donation request?

http://www.epsxe.com/download.php

Incidentally I have only just tried out gamezone - very cool!!

OK on a re-read I see you are talking about project 64. Let me change this to say ePSXe 1.7 is available and has much better game pad support. I can point gamezone to the new exe and I think it works mostly.

Hi wannabepvr,

Thanks for letting us know that ePSXe 1.7 works on GameZone, you may want to add your experience with this version to the thread below:

http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?t=35616

I would be interested in what "mostly" refers to, presumably some minor issues?

Thanks
