SCAN-1.cache

Probably a dumb question but will everyone in UK receiving freesat from Astra have the same SCAN-1.cache file or will the frequencies/values be different?
If they are the same as seems to be hinted at with people posting entries then is there a good source for a full set that might be posted here? Or a link to such a source. I seem to be having problems locking on to a few channels and various searches haven't helped.

Yes, with satellite they'll most likely be the same.

I've posted a fairly recent scan cache in a fairly recent thread... which is probably not much help as I'm at work and too lazy to find it!! One thing that is annoying though is that when the PIDs or one of the other parameters change the channels breaks and a rescan takes ages. I've managed to loose BBC News 24 from my scan chache and Al Jazera English has changed something so I only get sound. Although I cant be bothered to do a rescan just for that. Everything else is playing fine though.

Just out of curiosity what do Freesat boxes (and now Freesat TVs) do about changed PIDS and the like - they just seem to carry on without having to do a full rescan.

They don't need to scan - all of the info comes with the EPG stream, including the channel number. Sky's the same.

Still having issues with good old Channel4 and More4.
Scan finds the name but no signal. I've also pasted in settings from other postings to no avail. What is really annoying is that the WinTV2000 supplied with my NOVA-S card finds them fine...! Anyone know how to get the frequency info from WinTV2000? I get the T and V/H values but not sure about the others:
T:10729,V,22000,56~NID:32~ONID:2~TSID:2042~P:8340~V:2361~A:2362~L:eng~PMT:268~TXT:2364~PCR:2311~N:>More4

Channel4 did change recently but the values at lyngsat worked for me. Try some of the C4 regions if the one you have doesn't work. I think London and the South ones work for me. Oddly I cant get E4 to work - only the narration audio stream works for me, the regular audio gives a blank screen and no audio... E4+1 works fine. More 4 is also problematic... Can someone with a working E4 (with normal audio and not the narrated one!) post the values?

I find this a most interesting thread. Since Freesat booted up I have had some VERY strange responses from PVRX2.

No one seems to be able to solve them but obviously I'm in the same boat too! I have no answers, only questions

BTW has anyone noticed that CH4 + 1 is now scanning and playing? And that Channel 4 is no longer on '8350' (or have I missed a thread somewhere?)

Big Moose can post the values for missing channels on frequencies and will do but would love to hear how you get on.

I have 2 x DVB-S Cards, different makes. Their native TV Software picks up and plays all channels but PVRX2 isn't. What is weird is that 1 card picks up more channels within PVRX2 than the other.

Don't forget the weird spacing that pasting these values in seems to do
