I installed 1.2.13 shortly after the release. I got an error screen (same thing I received on 1.2.9 I believe). It just said there was an installation error (no code). PVRX2 works but there are several problems.

I'm using Vista Home Premium and I use a limited account for security. When I log onto the limited account, I get dialog box saying 1.2.13 installing. If I allow it to install, I get bluescreens (I use restore points to repair it). Instead I cancel it each time.

Also the Settings Menu flashes but returns me to the Main Menu. There may be other problems but I haven't noticed. Thanks.

"Same as Krazzen, setup screen from within PVRX2 just flashes then dissapears"

I cannot find a support request for this. The quote is from the release page. Also, is there a way to get it to quit initiating another install?

If you create a 'skin' subdirectory in the gbpvr directory, this problem will go away.

Thanks sub. I believe I did that and it didn't work. (I also thought that was for the System menu and was just giving it a whirl.) Either way, I'll check again.

Any idea why it is wants to install again on the limited account? I don't get this on the Administrative account and the limited account is running 1.2.13.

just a stab in the dark: have you moved the shortcut in the windows startmenu->programs? I had some weird behaviour where gbpvr kept trying to reinstall when I moved the shortcut and I think it went from a user folder to the all users folder...

No, that was the Settings screen.

Its probably something like fuzzweed mentioned above. Check the Windows Event Viewer.

I got the same problem yesterday when I did a fresh install of 1.2.13. I reloaded net 2.0 and vcredist to no avail. I was running 1.2.13 but I was getting a lot of disconnects: 'CONTACTING SERVER', 'FAILED TO LOCATE GUI SERVER' while watching a recording.

This is what worked for me... I installed an old copy of GBPVR10008.msi that I keet around. Then I unistalled that version and re-istalled a new fresh copy of 1.2.13. I first tried installing GBPVR10209.msi but it did not work. GBPVR10008.msi did.
