HDHomeRun instructions updated.

Does the HD Homerun encode the data and send it over the network to a configured location to write the data? This would remove encoding issues from the computer. I am constantly diddling with codecs because one thing or another gets broken between GB-PVR releases. How does guide data and what shows to record get managed? Does the HD Homerun appear to Windows as a device, and SW is installed to communicate with the HD Homerun to tell it shows to record?

It just passes the original MPEG 2 encoded stream just like any other digital tuner. There is no encoding since digital channels are already encoded. The HDHomeRun will not tune analog channels.
