Hi Guys

I had to replace my HD Homerun with an identical model (I have the connect with 2 tuners). The HD Homerun software displays the channels fine, NextPVR won't tune in any channels. Do I need to start over and reset my NextPVR configuration and start over to get it to work? If so, how? Do I need to re-install, or is there a way to clear out my tuner settings?

Thanks for your time.

If you try recording, does a file get created, and does it have stuff in it?

Logs would probably help also.

Yes, you need to add the new device and configure the new ID. NextPVR doesn't know it is a replacement.

At the very least, you'd need to have gone to the Settings->Devices screen, double clicked the new devices, and accepted the offer to copy the channel configuration from the existing channels. After that, you could right click on the old devices and delete them.

OK - here's what I've done:

Exported channels
Deleted all devices
Restarted
Re-imported channels (ATSC)
Made sure Video codec is ffdshow
Selected Live TV. (Freezes).
Unintall
Reinstall latest download
Checked Codec
Reconfigure
Still nothing...

The log lists that my router may be causing some trouble. Anyone seen this behavior?

Thanks for your time.

I suspect that the channel records contain an identifier for the device(s) where the channel can be found. The device identifiers are likely identifying a device that no longer exists.

You should try re-scanning for channels rather than re-importing.

It'll be something to do with this. It looks like something is wrong with the BDA drivers for this device. Have you tried uninstalling the SiliconDust software and reinstalling it? Hopefully that'd reinstall the BDA drivers. If that doesn't help, I've got something else you can try.

Re-scanning didn't find any channels. I ended up re-installing the HD Homerun software, then re-installing NextPVR and it's finding channels. Thanks for all your help, guys..

Welp - Looks like I spoke too soon. NextPVR discovers the channels fine, but when I go to play LiveTV it get about a second of audio, then NextPVR crashes. I've re-installed FFDShow and I've set the New HD Homerun (ATSC) to the highest priority. The HD Homerun software plays the channels fine, so I'm at a loss as to why NextPVR isn't picking it up.

I do notice that the old HD Homerun is still listed in devices. I delete it, but every time I restart NextPVR it is there again. Not sure if this is the issue...

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I believe that it is "normal" to have old HDHRs still get listed. (I think that sub has said the SD software stores the IDs of any HDHRs it sees in the registry which is why NextPVR still lists them--they just show up as "Present=No".)

While it is not intuitive, watching Live TV in NPVR is actually more "complicated" than recording. So when setting up and/or troubleshoot issues, you should use recordings rather than Live TV. After things are working fine with recordings, then you can test/troubleshoot Live TV.

So, your next step would be to shut everything down, restart NPVR, do a quick recording (you can pick something that ends in 5 minutes or so), monitor the recording file size to see if it grows consistently, let it run to completion, try playing the recorded file, then zip and post ALL of the logs (use the option in the Settings screen).
