What video type is Live satellite HD?
Only I have set ffdshow as my decoder for everything - mpeg2, H264, MP4 etc, but when watching a HD satellite feed, ffdshow is not being used.
It is used for SD satellite TV, DVB-T, and recordings (TS) of HD satellite.
SO I cannot figure out why it does not do the live stuff...

It depends which channels you're looking at - they're either MPEG2 or H.264.

Yes but I have ffdshow setup to decode both Mpeg2 and H264! It is being used for mpeg2 (inc DVDs), Live DVB-T TV, Live DVB-S TV in standard def, and recordings from DVB-S Hi-def (ts files) - but never for live DVB-S HD. I thought live HD DVB-S would be the same as recorded DVB-S, but obviously not as ffdshow only works on the recordings...

OK thanks. I was only clutching at straws anyway, trying different decoders in my quest to get satellite TV working reliably on my PC. I failed miserably!
