I'm having intermittent failed recordings. Some recordings record just fine, but others do not record and I no longer have live TV after it has failed. It is just a black screen when I try to view live TV after a recording has failed. I have to restart the computer to get live TV back. I have tried different codecs and multiplexers, but nothing has helped. I have attached a log from after one of the failed recordings. Any help would be appreciated.

When it next happens, I'd check if WinTV still works. I suspect something is going wrong in the drivers, in which case WinTV will likely have the same problem.

I have not checked if WinTV works when this happens, but I suspect that you are right. The card is an HVR-1600. I tried the drivers on the included CD and downloaded the latest from the Hauppauge web site. Is there anyplace else to get drivers? Is there anything else I can do to help track the problem down?

The web site would have been the only source I could have recommended.

I'd check WinTV as a first step. I'm not really sure after that. I'm not that familiar with the HVR1600.

I could not get WinTV to start, it did not have any channels and kept asking me if I wanted to scan for channels. When I scanned for channels it did not find anything. I uninstalled WinTV and the drivers for the Hauppauge card and then reinstalled. Now, Live TV within GBPVR is getting choppy. I checked WinTV and it was fine. I can watch WinTV and it never seems to get choppy. Is this codec or multiplexer issues?

The choppiness probably related to the video decoder you're using.

The audio seems to slowly get choppier until there is no audio. Would that mean audio decoder issues as well?

Probably. If its not the audio decoder, then it'll most likely to do with your audio renderer.
