wintv 1600 ir blaster and gbpvr

I've been trying to set up the ir blaster that came with me wintv 1600 to work. I only use pvr to record over the broadcasts so I don't need it for a cable box, etc. I installed the software so when I hit the GO button on the remote, the ir application opens so I know that the remote to ir receiver works. So basically I just want it to control the menu and viewing options in the pvrx2 program. I'm sure it can do this, but I'm missing something in the setup procedure.

Anybody have a tutorial or suggestions on how to set this up?

Have you tried clicking the 'fixed hauppauge remote settings' button in the config app?

I was working in the wrong section and trying to figure it out in the capture card section. It works great now.
