Playing back recordings causes crash

When I press play, my recording immediately crashes in GB-PVR. I'm using v1.2.13 and the latest version of Comskip in Vista. I also have no problems playing them back in Media Player Classic HC. I remember it was working when I installed GB-PVR for the first time, but I wonder what I could have done to break it. Thanks

There is no obvious cause in the logs, but I'd try two thing. Set the audio renderer back to 'system default', and set the audio decoder to an AC3 capable decoder like AC3Filter.

Thanks for the advice. Setting the video decoder to System Default fixed it. I would normally set it to use the PowerDVD 7 decoder with my Ati 2600pro and I was wondering if setting it to default would break the Enhanced Video Renderer? As far as I can tell, both System Default and PowerDVD 7 decoders use about the same CPU load with EVR and Vista. So, I would guess that EVR is still enabled under System Default?

Having it set to 'system default' wont disable EVR. If that decoder selection is working, then use it.

Ok, I changed my recording format to use transport streams, which is what my cable provider broadcasts with, and it's fixed my crashing issue while using the PowerDVD 7 decoder.

Just want to say I'm totally impressed with this program. I was using MediaPortal, but it was too slow opening up live TV and changing channels and would crash someitmes. It was also a hassle to setup and overall a frustrating experience. One major problem I've always had with MP was it's inability to work with Vista's Power settings properly. GB-PVR just seems to work and is much easier to setup (once you get the hang of it). Unlike MP, GB-PVR's live TV broadcast delay is nonexistent when compared to using VLC Player with my HDHomerun. ALso, I've installed the Community skin pack it looks great. I've had issues where plugins seems to disappear or I'm unable to enable or disable them in Config, but I'll take that over the many more issues I've had with MP. Thanks again!
